Job summary

ABC Therapy is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide school-based services across Medina, Summit, and Cuyahoga Counties. This in-person floating position offers flexible scheduling with multiple locations and hours that align with school district calendars.

You will evaluate students, develop individualized plans, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success. Ohio OT license and NBCOT are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed OT in Ohio with NBCOT certification.
• School-based pediatric experience preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate students to identify participation barriers in school.
• Provide direct OT services and consult with school-aged children.
• Develop individualized treatment plans to meet educational goals.
• Track progress and update records to show measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators.
• Participate in ETR and IEP meetings.
• Supervise therapy assistants where applicable.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and classroom modifications.
• Complete documentation per state and school requirements.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate students to identify their strengths, needs, and challenges affecting participation in the school environment.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services and consultation to school-aged children.
• Develop individualized treatment and intervention plans to support students’ educational, functional, and developmental goals.
• Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and modify treatment plans as needed to achieve measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, school administrators, and other related service professionals to support student success.
• Participate in Evaluation Team Report (ETR) meetings and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
• Supervise therapy assistants as applicable.
• Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and classroom modifications to help students participate more effectively.
• Complete documentation in accordance with applicable school, state, and federal requirements.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Current, valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Ohio.
• Occupational Therapy degree from an accredited educational program.
• Current NBCOT certification.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• A genuine interest in helping children develop new skills and reach their individual potential.
• Previous pediatric or school-based therapy experience is preferred.
