Job summary

St. David’s HealthCare in Austin, TX, is seeking an Occupational Health Technician PRN to support the after-hours OHS program. This on-call role involves front-line administrative tasks, patient care assistance, and advocating for patients with empathy and professionalism.

The position requires at least 6 months in a medical setting and active licensure as a Certified Medical Assistant in Texas, plus BLS. You will handle screenings, immunizations, fit testing, drug/alcohol collections, and

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 6 months experience in a medical setting.
  • License Required: Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Texas.
  • BLS for healthcare provider.
  • Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Urine Drug Screen Collector must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • High School Graduate / GED.

Responsibilities

  • Providing front-line administrative support, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing billing, and maintaining accurate records
  • Assist with patient care
  • Acting as a patient advocate by promptly responding to questions and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism
  • Maintaining thorough and organized patient and employee health files, ensuring all documentation is up to date
  • Coordinating employee health services such as pre-employment screenings, immunizations, fit testing, and follow-up on work-related injuries.
  • Monitoring and restocking medical and office supplies to keep the unit fully equipped and ready to provide care
  • Performs Laboratory Testing
  • Performs Drug and Alcohol Screen collections
  • Maintains Patient medical records

Job Summary And Qualifications

\"This is an On call position and not a traditional PRN position. The Occ Health Tech will participate in the OHS after Hours Program (Nights and Weekends)\"
