WakeMed Health & Hospitals seeks an Occupational Health Nurse to lead health and safety activities across all WakeMed facilities, serving employees, medical staff, contractors, and volunteers. The role emphasizes evaluation/intervention for infectious agents, exposure follow-up, case management, vaccine and health surveillance programs, and ensuring NC OSHA compliance.

A strong clinical nursing background with occupational health experience is preferred.

Competenze

• Graduate nursing is required.
• Nursing coursework per role specifications is required.
• Current licensure/certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.

Mansioni

• Evaluate and intervene for healthcare workers with infectious agents.
• Follow up employees exposed to hazardous or infectious agents.
• Manage occupational injuries/illnesses and return-to-work cases.
• Ensure facilities comply with NC Occupational Safety and Health Act requirements.
• Advocacy for employee health care and treatment.
• Direct nursing care to the patient population.
• Counsel on illness, injury management and prevention.
• Administer pre-placement assessments and return-to-work processes.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Administer vaccine and health surveillance programs.
