Job summary

Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is seeking an Occupational Health Registered Nurse for a contract role in Marion, NC. The position covers the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with an alternating Sun/Wed/Thu week and Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat week, focusing on leading the facility's occupational health program and delivering patient care.

The RN will coordinate care for workplace injuries, monitor health surveillance programs, maintain records, and ensure OSHA/compliance.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina nursing license.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nurse experience.
• BSN preferred and OH certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and administer the facility's occupational health program to address workplace health risks and support employee wellbeing.
• Provide immediate care and assessment for workplace injuries and illnesses, including coordinating emergency medical response efforts.
• Manage occupational health surveillance programs, including hearing conservation, respiratory monitoring, and exposure management.
• Maintain confidential occupational health records and ensure compliance with OSHA, Workers' Compensation, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Coordinate case management activities, partnering with healthcare providers, Human Resources, managers, and insurance representatives to support timely return-to-work outcomes.
• Deliver health-related counseling, education, and wellness initiatives that promote employee and family wellbeing.
• Collaborate with Environmental Health & Safety teams to identify workplace health hazards and implement risk reduction strategies.
• Support on-site drug testing programs and follow-up activities as appropriate.
• Conduct basic ergonomic assessments and partner with EHS to reduce musculoskeletal injury risks.
• Evaluate occupational health program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with external occupational health physicians and providers.
• Maintain required certifications and continuing education to support occupational health practice.

What You’ll Be Doing:

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

• Registered nurse with current North Carolina license to practice required
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a clinical nurse setting
• BSN preferred
• OH Certification preferred
• Critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Proficient in computer program use
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Certification in CPR/first aid
• Physically able to respond in emergency situations
• Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
• Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
• Certified in Healthcare Provider CPR/AED
