Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to advance health and safety programs for employees. The role supports promotion, restoration of health, and prevention of illness in a workplace setting, under supervision.

The position requires an active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state and CPR/BLS certification, with an emphasis on screening, documentation, and confidential health records management.

Qualifications

• Required: RN licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state.
• BLS CPR certification (American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider).

Responsibilities

• Assesses employee health needs and plans primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize health and prevent injuries and illnesses.
• Documents assessments, treatments, outcomes, work and disability status, screenings, and educational offerings.
• Assists with health screenings and health assessments (post-offer physical exams, wellness screenings, audiometric testing, vision screening, bloodborne pathogen exposure care and follow up, drug screening).
• Offers health promotion incentives and educational materials to promote employee health and wellness.
• Communicates health information to the organization in a timely and professional manner, including work-related injury information, return to work status, laboratory tests, and drug screen results.
• Maintains clear and concise employee health records to meet department, company, and regulatory standards; safeguards confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Function

• Documents assessments, treatments, outcomes, work and disability status, screenings, and educational offerings in a thorough manner.
• Assists with health screenings and health assessments (post-offer physical exams, wellness screenings, audiometric testing, vision screening, bloodborne pathogen exposure care and follow up, drug screening) to identify and monitor risks to the employee’s health.
• Offers health promotion incentives and educational materials to promote employee health and wellness.
• Communicates appropriate health information to the organization in a timely and professional manner,ie work-related injury information, return to work status, laboratory tests, and drug screen results.
• Maintains clear and concise employee health records to meet the requirements of the department, the company, and any applicable standards or laws.
• Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of employee health information and health records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
