Job summary

Spectraforce is seeking a part-time occupational health nurse in North Carolina to support Saturday and Sunday coverage from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The RN will work onsite with the client OH team to deliver clinical services, health monitoring, and emergency response.

Requirements include an active NC RN license and 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in OH, emergency, or public health. Travel health consultations and phlebotomy are included in duties.

Qualifications

• Active NC registered nurse license required.
• 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience; occupational health preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Audiometry and Spirometry certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage clinical priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform RN level assessment and medical management of work-related injuries and illness.
• Facilitate return-to-work and workers' compensation processes.
• Assist with international travel health consultations.
• Perform phlebotomy, immunizations, CLIA-waived testing, TB screening.
• Assist with OH supply management.
• Respond to site medical emergencies and support disaster preparedness.
• Ensure OH compliance with State, Federal, OSHA, and workers' comp regulations.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with client staff, patients, and OH partners.

Job description

Working Hours: Part-time nurse position covering Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The purpose of the occupational health nurse is to maintain the health, safety, and productivity of client staff by providing superior clinical services. The incumbent will possess an active registered nurse license and work onsite in close collaboration with the client occupational health team. Experience in occupational health (OH), emergency room, or public health is preferred.

• Perform RN level assessment and medical management of work related injury/illness


• Facilitate return to work and workers' compensation programs


• Assist with international travel health consultations


• Perform phlebotomy, administer immunizations, CLIA waived testing (i.e. glucometer), and TB screening tests


• Assist with OH supply management


• Respond to site medical emergencies and support disaster preparedness activities


• Ensure OH compliance with State, Federal, OSHA, and workers compensation compliance regulations as applicable


• Comply with ethical, legal, professional requirements, corporate policies and procedures


• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with client colleagues, patients, and OH partners

Position requirements

• Active registered nurse license in the state of North Carolina


• 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience. Occupational and Environmental Health experience, emergency room or public health strongly preferred


• Bachelors of Nursing degree - preferred


• Audiometry and Spirometry Certification preferred


• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills


• Ability to organize and rapidly prioritize responsibilities in response to clinical need and staff population


• Knowledge of OH and safety principles to establishing and maintaining a safe work environment


• Experience with North Carolinas workers compensation regulations and claim filing, case management, OSHA regulations, and maintaining OSHA records


• Ability to perform audiometry and spirometry testing for medical surveillance programs


• Computer literacy in Microsoft office suite and competency with using electronic medical records systems
