Job summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Obstetrics Technologist (OB Tech) to support the operative procedure by preparing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment, while maintaining the sterile field. The role partners with the Registered Nurse for patient care in a rotating schedule.

The OB Tech should demonstrate strong ethics, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced perioperative environment and protect patient privacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (NCCT).
• DE Clearances required upon hire and maintained.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire and maintained.
• Minimum of 1 year Labor and Delivery Surgical Tech experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures and maintain sterile field.
• Collaborate with the RN to assist in patient care and respond to perioperative needs.
• Demonstrate professional values aligned with Nemours mission and policies.
• Communicate effectively using escalation processes and provide timely information.
• Manage time and resources, suggest process improvements, and work independently when needed.
• Maintain patient privacy and deliver exceptional care and service.
