Job summary

The Nemours Foundation is seeking an Obstetrics Technologist (OB Tech) to assist in operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. The role maintains the sterile field and anticipates needs of the surgical team in a rotating 24 hrs/wk schedule.

Partnering with the RN, the OB Tech will participate in patient care. We can consider part-time or full-time positions with days, nights, or rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery – Certified (NCCT).
• DE Clearances required upon hire and maintained for duration of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire and maintained for duration of employment.
• Minimum of 1-year experience Labor and Delivery Surgical Tech experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and provides sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintains the sterile field and supports the perioperative team.
• Partners with the Registered Nurse to participate in patient care.
• Demonstrates professional values aligned with Nemours standards and policies.
• Communicates effectively and utilizes escalation processes for information sharing.
• Completes required educational programs and meetings.
• Demonstrates basic computer skills and confidentiality of information.
• Other duties as assigned.
