Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology Technologist to assist in the L&D department. You will work under a Registered Nurse to support patient care in the operating room and maternity services, including data collection and documentation.

Required are a Surgical Technologist trade school degree or an LPN degree, and BLS certification within 90 days of hire. A minimum of 1 year OB/OR/Surgical Tech experience is expected, with night shift availability for

Job Description Summary

Under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, responsible for assisting in the nursing care and surgical services in the maternity services area including the provision of patient care necessary for comfort, hygiene, data collection, and documentation. Activities are based on accepted standards of operating room and obstetrical practice and are performed within the scope of education, training, and experience.

LPN or Surgical Technologist education & training accepted. If not an LPN, experience as Surgical Tech and CST preferred. BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Education

• Either Surgical Technologist Trade School Degree or LPN Degree REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days REQUIRED

Experience

• 1 year Prior OB/OR/Surgical Technologist experience REQUIRED
