Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring an Obstetrics and Gynecology Technologist for the L&D department on a Flexi/PRN Night Shift (Third shift). Under RN direction, you will assist in nursing care and surgical services in maternity, focusing on patient comfort, hygiene, data collection and documentation.

The role requires 1 year OB/OR/Surgical Technologist experience, and either an LPN, Surgical Tech training, or CST certification with BLS within 90 days.

About the Position

Sentara is hiring an Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB) Technologist in the L&D department at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. This is a Flexi/PRN Night Shift (Third shift) role. Under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, you will assist in nursing care and surgical services in the maternity services area, including patient care for comfort, hygiene, data collection, and documentation. Activities are based on accepted standards of operating room and obstetrical practice and are performed within the scope of education, training, and experience.

Education & Experience

• LPN or Surgical Technologist education & training accepted. If not an LPN, experience as Surgical Tech and CST preferred.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Either Surgical Technologist Trade School Degree or LPN Degree required.
• Certification/Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days required.
• Experience: 1 year prior OB/OR/Surgical Technologist experience required.
