Night Shift

Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB) Technologist for the L&D department on a flexi/PRN night shift. Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist in maternity care and surgical services, collect data, and document care.

LPN or Surgical Technologist training accepted; BLS required within 90 days. Minimum 1 year OB/OR/Surgical Technologist experience is required, with NBSTSA/CST credentials often preferred.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist training/education required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
• 1 year prior OB/OR/Surgical Technologist experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in nursing care and surgical services in maternity services area.
• Perform data collection and documentation as part of patient care.
• Work under guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Job Description Summary

Under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse, responsible for assisting in the nursing care and surgical services in the maternity services area including the provision of patient care necessary for comfort, hygiene, data collection, and documentation. Activities are based on accepted standards of operating room and obstetrical practice and are performed within the scope of education, training, and experience.
LPN or Surgical Technologist education & training accepted. If not an LPN, experience as Surgical Tech and CST preferred. BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Education

• Either Surgical Technologist Trade School Degree or LPN Degree REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days REQUIRED

Experience

• 1 year Prior OB/OR/Surgical Technologist experience REQUIRED
