Job summary

Singing River Ocean Springs Hospital is seeking an Obstetrical Technician to provide basic nursing care and assist the surgical team during Labor and Delivery procedures. You will help pass instruments, maintain the sterile field, and support room preparation before deliveries and surgeries.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with Surgical Technician training preferred. Certification in Surgical Technologist and BCLS are expected, with de-escalation training due within 90

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent is required.
Successful completion of Surgical Technician program preferred.
Current Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
Must have de-escalation training completed by end of orientation (90 days).
Minimum of one year Surgical Technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist and pass instruments during surgical procedures in the Labor and Delivery unit.
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and maintain the sterile field.
Prepare the room before surgery or delivery and ensure all required items are ready.
Perform routine clerical duties within the unit.
Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
