Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking an Obstetrical Technician to assist in the Labor and Delivery unit, maintain sterile field, and support the surgical team. Responsibilities include instrument passing, room prep, and clerical duties under RN supervision.

Applicants should have a high school diploma (Surgical Technician program preferred) and BCLS certification, with a minimum one year of surgical technologist experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Surgical Technician program preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• Must complete and maintain BCLS certification.
• Must have de-escalation training by orientation (90 days).

Responsibilities

• Assist and pass instruments during surgical procedures in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Maintain sterile field and prep room before surgery or delivery.
• Perform routine clerical duties within the unit as needed.
• Report to RN and Patient Care Manager for shift coverage.
