Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking an Obstetrical Technician to provide basic nursing care and assist in the oper­ating room within the Labor and Delivery unit. You will anticipate surgeon needs, maintain a sterile field, and help prepare the room for delivery or procedures. Requires medical teamwork and clerical duties as needed.

The role reports to a Registered Nurse and may require travel within the SRHS service area with a night shift from 7:00pm to 7:00am.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Surgical Technician program preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year Surgical Technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and pass instruments during surgical procedures in Labor and Delivery.
• Maintain sterile field and prepare the room prior to surgery or delivery.
• Support the Registered Nurse and patient care management during shifts.
