Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall in Newburgh, NY seeks an Obstetrical Surgical Technician to support the Birthing Center.

Under RN supervision you will assist with vital signs, personal care, surgical scrub and prep, and help plan equipment for procedures. Candidates need a high school diploma, knowledge of medical terminology, ability to read/write English, completion of a Certified Surgical Technician program, and at least one year experience as PCA or Scrub Tech; surgical technician

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and indirect patient care tasks under RN supervision, including vital signs and personal care.
• Assist with personal care and monitor patient status as needed.
• Scrub, prep and handle surgical instruments for procedures.
• Plan and arrange equipment/instruments for patient care procedures.
