Job summary

Montefiore Nyack Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking an Ambulatory Scrub Tech to support a busy surgical team. The role includes scrubbing on orthopedic, pain, and local cases, preparing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.

The candidate will assist the surgeon as a second assistant and help with turnover and supply management. Qualifications include high school/GED, 1–2 years ambulatory OR experience, strong interpersonal skills, and NBSTSA certification upon hire.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• NBSTSA certification required or upon hire.
• 1–2 years ambulatory operating room experience.
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and organize priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for cases and assists in instrument setup and sterile field.
• Scrubs on all types of cases and may act as surgeon's second assistant.
• Assists with room turnover and inventory control and ensures supplies are available.
• Assists in maintaining sterile technique and infection control practices.
• Adheres to AORN recommendations and Center policies during procedures.
