Job summary

Westchester Medical Center in New York seeks a Perinatal Surgical Technologist to support the obstetrics surgical team. The role entails scrubbing, instrument handling, and maintaining sterile technique across pre-, intra-, and post-delivery procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient prep, gowning, draping, instrument passing, and room turnover, while ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of surgical technologist experience in the operating room (preferred).
• High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in Operating Technology preferred.
• Completion of a nationally accredited surgical technologist program with CST credential or equivalent military training or employment verification within the specified period.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-surgical preparation and PPE as needed.
• Gather and open supplies and equipment for surgical/delivery procedures.
• Set up sterile field, instrument table, and supplies for procedures.
• Perform instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with team members.
• Assist obstetrical team with gowning/gloving and patient preparation for surgery/delivery.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with room turnover and patient transport.
