Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio seeks an experienced Clinical Nurse II to lead a Care Delivery Team, directing and coordinating nursing care for a defined patient group. The CN II demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and precepts new staff as part of the Mercy Clinical Ladder.

The role requires an Ohio RN license, completion of orientation, and ongoing continuing education (12 hours/year) including Fire Safety and CPR re-certification; ACLS is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a state-accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure from the state of Ohio as an RN.
• Successful completion of general and unit-specific orientation and hospital probationary period. Completes Orientation Checklist.
• Obtains/maintains a minimum of 12 contact hours of continuing education annually which includes Fire Safety and CPR Re-certification. ACLS is required.
• Must have theoretical knowledge combined with clinical experience in providing nursing care for a variety of patients. Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing with people of varying backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Care Delivery Team and direct the care for a defined patient group.
• Demonstrate clinical competency and coordinate nursing care across assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Precept new staff as assigned and supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Patient Care Assistants.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members; participate in rounding and care coordination.
• Demonstrate leadership as part of the Mercy Clinical Ladder and role model best practices in patient care.
