Job summary

Banner Health seeks a Certified Patient Care Assistant for the Post Partum Unit in Mesa, AZ. This full-time day-shift position (6am-6pm) includes weekend rotations with a $1/hour weekend differential and an 18% night shift differential when applicable.

The role supports obstetrical care to mothers and newborns across the whole hospital. Responsibilities include routine patient care, data collection, documentation in the EMR, and coordination with licensed staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice.
• Excellent organizational, human relations and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine patient care to promote comfort and contribute to the care plan.
• Collects patient data including vital signs and input/output; documents in EMR.
• Reports abnormalities and communicates status to licensed professionals.
• Performs procedures and uses equipment per state scope of practice under supervision.
• Handles receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintains patient records, admission/discharge information and consent forms.
• Manages supplies and orders; tracks equipment usage.
• Assists with patient transport and OR turnover as needed.
• Works in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
