Allegheny Health Network is seeking a medical coder to interpret medical information and assign ICD-10 CM/CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures. You will abstract data elements for statistical requests and ensure timely entry into the designated system.

The role emphasizes supporting cash flow by managing unbilled coding reports and staying current with ICD-10/CM CPT guidelines through training and coding clinics. A related associate degree and coding certifications are preferred.

Qualificações

• High School/GED; required foundational education.
• Successful completion of coding courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• 1 year of Hospital and/or Physician Coding experience.
• 1 year coding at mid-level facilities or clinics.
• 1 year coding major surgeries, observations and/or E/Ms.

Responsabilidades

• Review and interpret medical information to assign ICD-10 CM/CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstract data elements to satisfy statistical requests and enter into designated system.
• Support efficient cash flow by managing unbilled coding reports.
• Stay updated on ICD-10 CM/CPT guidelines through training and clinics.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field

RHIT/RHIA/CCS-P/CPC/COC/CPC-A Apprentice certifications
