Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's White Oak Medical Center in Maryland seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Observation Unit to uphold our mission of holistic care.

As an RN, you will educate patients and families, serve as a role model for Level I nurses, adhere to ANA standards, and use electronic resources to support best practices. You will develop care plans, monitor patients, and mentor team members in patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.
• One - Two years of current Telemetry experience or related acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while also striving to advance their own knowledge and skills through feedback from senior nurses.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and embody Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment and technology correctly and delegate non-nursing duties to maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Perform literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice based on evidence.
