Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 18-bed Observation Unit. You will manage care for adult medical/surgical patients, emphasizing admission processes and timely discharge or transfer to inpatient units.

The role requires an Associate's degree in Nursing; a Bachelor's degree is preferred with a commitment to obtain within 8 years. Licensure in Michigan and BLS are required; CCU/ALS certifications may be needed for some RNs.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.

• Licensed RN in Michigan.
• BLS certification required.
• Critical care or ALS may be required for some RNs, unit specific.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for adult med/surg patients in the Observation Unit.
• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, and evaluation.
• Coordinate care with other professionals and delegate tasks where appropriate.
• Document patient responses and plan of care.
• Ensure timely discharge or transfer to inpatient unit as needed.
• Maintain compliance with Michigan Public Health Code and unit policies.
