Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Observation Unit on a full-time night shift (12N). You will manage patient care from admission to discharge, using the nursing process and coordinating with the care team to achieve quality outcomes.

An Associate’s degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred and must be obtained within eight years of hire.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred, must obtain within eight years of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the state of Michigan.
• As of December 29, 2013, any nurse hired by Bronson who does not hold a BSN will be given 8 years from date of hire to obtain.
• BLS certification required by completion of core orientation.
• Critical care or ALS as well as other certifications may be required for some RNs, unit specific

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process to achieve quality outcomes.
• Coordinate care with other professionals and document patient responses.
• Delegate tasks to patient care assistants as appropriate.
• Administer medications and treatments per approved nursing techniques and policies.
• Educate patients and plan discharge to support timely transition of care.
• Follow standards of professional performance and practice in Bronson's unit.
