Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care for continuity of care.
• Completes initial patient assessment and develops a care plan.
• Implements plan of care and nursing interventions; updates based on evaluation.
• Ensures patient and employee safety and reports safety hazards.
• Communicates effectively with the healthcare team to coordinate care.
• Documents medications using the 5 Rights and manages admission/discharge; hourly rounding.
• Supports prompt admission/discharge for Observation status patients.
