Job summary

Corewell Health's Royal Oak Hospital is seeking an Observer to provide continuous observation care on the Medical Observation Unit (54 beds). You will monitor patients admitted from the Emergency Department, assist with safety, documentation, and ensure adherence to the unit's care plan.

The role requires a high school diploma, Basic Life Support, hospital or nursing home experience preferred, and CNA certification preferred. This is a full-time day shift position with 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• AHA/Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required.
• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy.
• Safely transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher and document services.
• Serve as Observer for patients requiring constant observation (in person or via remote video).
• Perform receptionist and clerical duties to support unit operations.
• Document care in the electronic medical record.
