Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator to manage the scheduling of surgical procedures, pre-admission testing, and related appointments across multiple hospital operating rooms and facilities.

You will liaise with physicians, patients, departments, and insurers to ensure seamless care, while upholding patient-centered service and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Secretarial Sciences, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with scheduling software and Microsoft Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for OBGYN Associates physicians, including elective, urgent, robotic, and non-robotic surgeries.
• Manage physician operating room block schedules and maximize utilization of block time.
• Coordinate surgical assistant coverage and related case requirements.
• Serve as a resource for physicians and practice staff regarding operating room schedules and policies.
• Verify insurance coverage and coordinate with financial counselors for pre-admission approvals.
