Job summary

BioReference Health, LLC, a leading laboratory-services provider, seeks a Phlebotomist to perform blood draws and specimen preparation with a patient-friendly approach in a fast-paced clinical lab setting. The role involves labeling, centrifuging, and proper storage of specimens, while ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety regulations.

A High School Diploma or GED and state phlebotomy certification are required, with at least 6 months of venipuncture experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture and other specimen collection as required
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order
• Package specimens for transport
• Understands and complies with OSHA and DEP regulations
• Attend annual department trainings
• Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries
• Other duties as assigned
