Job summary

BioReference Health, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist responsible for blood draws and specimen preparation to support high-quality patient care. You will make patients comfortable while obtaining sufficient samples across diverse populations and maintain accurate specimen handling per protocol.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, valid Phlebotomy certification, and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed as required by state.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, and updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Ensure all physician orders are understood and followed.
• Match requisition forms to specimens and properly label, centrifuge, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions against scripts for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store them per required temperatures.
• Wear PPE and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings and handle inquiries.
