Job summary

Jackson Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator - MA to support medical plans of care through routine nursing functions and diagnostic procedures. You will escort patients, collect vital signs, draw blood, perform EKGs and X-rays as ordered, administer injections, and assist with minor surgery and exams.

You will maintain clear communication with physicians, nurses, and office staff; document in EMR to Meaningful Use standards; handle referrals, prior authorizations, and front-office

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and MA program certification preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication required.
• Experience with EMR and practice management software.
• CPT/ICD coding, laboratory and radiology procedures familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Support medical plans of care with routine nursing and diagnostic tasks.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and collect vital signs.
• Draw blood, perform EKGs and X-rays as ordered; administer injections.
• Assist with minor surgery and examinations; handle front office duties when needed.
• Document all care in EMR and ensure continuity of care with referrals and authorizations.
• Screen calls, relay physician instructions, and contact patients with advice.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and ready-to-use equipment.
