Job summary

Advocate Health's OB/GYN department is seeking a Full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care in a busy obstetrics/gynecology setting. The role requires completion of a Practical Nursing program and a current LPN license, with BLS certification within six months if required. 40 hours per week, with a schedule of Mon-Thu 7:30a-5p and Fri 8a-noon.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• LPN license issued by the practicing state.
• No experience required.
• BLS certification within 6 months unless exempt by leadership.
• Proficient with EMR systems and standard Windows applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per policies and standards.
• Assist assessment by documenting data and reporting changes to the RN.
• Assist in developing and implementing the plan of care as directed by the RN.
• Support patient teaching according to the care plan.
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses; communicate changes to RN.
• Perform clinical tasks such as medication administration and IV therapy within scope.
