Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis is seeking an OB Technician to support patient care and the nursing team in a fast-paced obstetrical unit. This non-certified technologist role requires a high school diploma or GED, and may involve proof of education upon request.

You will perform designated clinical procedures, assist with ADL support for mothers and newborns, handle clerical tasks, maintain records, transport specimens, and ensure supplies meet unit needs, all while upholding Mercy standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High-School Diploma or GED required.
• Certifications: BLS required.
• Experience: Surgical Technology experience required at hire or completion of a unit-based competency.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical procedures and non-clinical support to OB patients as part of the nursing team.
• Assist with ADL support for mothers and newborns, and participate in clerical tasks.
• Maintain patient records, transport specimens, and ensure supplies for the unit.
