Job summary

Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, CO, seeks an OB Tech to support the Labor & Delivery unit with direct and indirect patient care and assist in surgical procedures. You will scrub for C-sections and vaginal deliveries under RN and provider direction, manage sterile setups, and support call lights and room turnover in a fast-paced OR environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Colorado Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technician certification required for Colorado staff.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures with ability to scrub a variety of cases.
• Sets up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications needed for procedures.
• Performs instrument counts with the circulator before incision, during closure, and as needed.
• Maintains sterile technique and checks package integrity and indicators.
• Prepares and sterilizes supplies and disposes of sharps and contaminated materials properly.
• May provide patient care including comfort, hygiene, safety, transport, nutrition and well-being of newborns.
