Job summary

Longmont United Hospital is hiring an OB Tech to support the Labor & Delivery unit, assisting with vaginal deliveries under RN/provider direction and functioning as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures. The role includes patient care tasks, equipment maintenance, and clerical support services in a fast-paced obstetric setting.

The candidate should have a strong OB/GYN clinical support background, meticulous attention to detail, and flexibility to handle varied tasks in a supportive team

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• BLS certification; refer to CS Addendum and UT License grid.
• Colorado Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technician upon hire if not covered by another Colorado license/registration.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures, demonstrating appropriate skill to scrub a variety of cases.
• Sets up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Performs appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation, before incision is closed, and as needed.
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures by checking package integrity, indicators, and opening procedures.
• Prepares and sterilizes supplies and equipment used in procedures, and disposes of sharps/contaminated materials appropriately.
• May provide patient care, including comfort and hygiene measures, safety measures, transport, nutritional and elimination needs, and wellbaby care, such as bathing infants, bottle feeding, transporting, cord care, and weighing of infants.
