Job summary

Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, CO, is seeking an OB Tech to join the Labor & Delivery team. You will assist with vaginal deliveries under RN and provider direction, scrub for surgical procedures, and help maintain sterile fields and instrument setups.

You may also assist with patient care, chart preparation in EPIC, and room turnover for C-sections and emergencies. Candidates should have strong OB/GYN support skills and a collaborative approach to safety-focused care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Basic Life Support; Refer to CS Addendum and UT License and Certification Grid
• Colorado Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technician upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration

Responsibilities

• Functions as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures, demonstrating appropriate skill to scrub a variety of cases.
• Sets up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
• Performs appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation, before incision is closed, and as needed.
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures by checking package integrity, indicators, and opening procedures.
• Prepares and sterilizes supplies and equipment used in procedures, and disposes of sharps/contaminated materials appropriately.
• May provide patient care, including comfort and hygiene measures, safety measures, transport, nutritional and elimination needs, and wellbaby care, such as bathing infants, bottle feeding, transporting, cord care, and weighing of infants.
