Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking an Obstetric Surgical Technologist to join the OR team. You will prepare the surgical suite, organize instruments, and support obstetric procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include a Surgical Technician program, BCLS certification, and CST preferred. Prior perioperative or obstetrical experience is valued. This PRN role offers on-call opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite and organize instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while ensuring comfort and safety.
• Provide instruments and hands-on support to the obstetric surgical team.
• Maintain a sterile field, perform counts, and ensure equipment functions properly.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver patient-centered obstetric care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

You’ll prepare the surgical suite, support the team during procedures, and ensure every patient receives compassionate care. Your responsibilities will include:

• 3-4 shifts per week to include a weekend shift
• Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures
• Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety
• Providing instruments, equipment, and hands-on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures
• Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly
• Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient-centered care and a seamless surgical experience

What qualifications you will need:

• Completion of a Surgical Technician program.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) as recognized by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred.
• Current BCLS recognized by American Heart Association required.
• Prefer six to twelve months current experience in a perioperative or obstetrical setting.
