Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking an OB Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing Delivery and Operating Rooms, aiding the nursing staff, and ensuring sterile technique throughout obstetric and gynecologic procedures.

Under RN supervision, you will document care in the EMR, support patient perioperative care, and contribute to a safe, organized operating environment in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an approved formal program in OR tech/surgical scrub tech/ Surgical Technology.
• Registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine as Surgical Technologist or Surgical Assistant required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Delivery and OR rooms with instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist RN and surgical team during operative procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique when opening sterile supplies and during setup.
• Document care provided in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with turnover and stocking between cases.
• Support patient care activities as delegated by RN and communicate safety throughout perioperative care.
