Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is looking for a Surgical Technologist in Stockbridge, Georgia. This role involves handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during obstetrical operations, ensuring quality patient care, and maintaining the sterile field.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, training from a Surgical Technologist program, and previous operating room experience. Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program required.
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist required.
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required.
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred.

• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and maintain the sterile field.
• Perform patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
