Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking an OB Surg Tech to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery Operating Room. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, and anticipate the needs of the surgeon while maintaining a sterile field under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Applicants must graduate from a Surgical Technologist program and have OR experience or direct patient care; BCLS is required and NRP is preferred for neonatal resuscitation.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program (Required).
• 1 year OR experience as Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist (Required).
• 3 years direct patient care in a clinical setting (Required).
• BCLS certification required; NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle instruments, supplies and equipment for obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery OR.
• Maintain sterile field and assist the surgeon under RN supervision.

Overview: Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse. Work Experience

• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred
