Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital is seeking an OB Surg Tech for night shifts to support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery unit. The role requires familiarity with instrument handling, sterile technique, and assisting the surgeon during procedures.

Requirements include a Surgical Technologist training program completion, GED or high school diploma, and 3 years of direct patient care experience. BCLS is required; NRP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from Surgical Technologist training program is required.
• 1 year of OR experience as Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist is required.
• 3 years of direct patient care experience in a clinical setting is required.
• BCLS certification required.
• NRP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Overview:

Location: Piedmont Fayette L&D

Status: Full Time

Shift: Nights 3 12s 7p-7a

Responsibilities:

Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the obstetrical operations performed in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program Required or
• 1 year previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist Required or
• 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred
