Job summary

UP Health System - Portage in Michigan is seeking an OB RN for a temporary need (PRN/0.001 FTE). The role features varied 12-hour shifts (7-7) with a 90-day assignment. Candidates must hold an active Michigan RN license, an associate degree in nursing, and OB experience.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school; bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS-HCP certification required.
• 1–2 years OB experience preferred.
• NRP, AWHONN, EFM, STABLE and PEOP certifications within 6 months.
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Coordinates care across disciplines including transfer, discharge, referral, and psychosocial support.
• Assesses learning needs of patient/family and provides education.
• Advocates for patient physical and emotional well-being.
