Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Registered Nurse for the Birthplace Unit at Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN. This role is a .6 FTE with 12-hour night shifts, and every third weekend rotation, featuring a variable weekday schedule.

The Birthplace unit provides Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care with a dedicated OB/GYN team, CRNAs, and lactation support. Join a family-centered team within M Health Fairview and help deliver high-quality obstetric care.

Qualifications

• Current MN Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Minimum 1 year of RN Labor & Delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
• Involves the patient, family and health team members in data gathering.
• Uses systemic process to collect biological, psychological, spiritual and social information from patient and family.
• Analyzes data to identify risks, prioritize needs and determine problems.
• Documents outcomes that are age and culturally appropriate.
• Develops individualized nursing care plans.
• Prioritizes and implements interventions based on acuity, resources, and preferences.
• Collaborates or makes referrals when needed for safe, independent care.
• Anticipates and responds to emergent situations.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and shares findings with peers.
• Delivers care with sensitivity to developmental level and cultural differences.
