Job summary

UTHealth Houston in Houston, TX seeks a Medical Assistant to support the UTP Gynecologic Oncology - Southeast team in outpatient care, coordinating patient scheduling and access.

Requirements: high school diploma and completion of an approved Medical Assistant program; six months’ MA experience or MA program completion.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required by American Heart Association.
• Proficiency with standard clinic equipment and supplies.
• Ability to support outpatient care and patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient access responsibilities.
• Document chief complaint, vital signs, medications, allergies, and visit reason.
• Prepare rooms and stock supplies; assist with routine and specialty procedures.
• Perform clerical duties including photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
