Job summary

University Health Services at UT Austin is hiring a Medical Assistant for Gynecology, in the Healthyhorns unit. The on-site, 11-month position supports patient care delivery under medical supervision and requires EMR experience, CPR within 90 days, and outpatient clinic experience.

The role features 40 hours per week, a non-exempt FLSA status, and a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage and retirement contributions.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, certificate, or registration as a Medical Assistant.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience using electronic medical records.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently.
• Minimum one year of experience in an outpatient clinic.
• Experience with and a moderate comfort level using a personal computer.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the evaluation and care of patients to be seen by UHS providers.
• Exhibits professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service in all aspects of work.
• Performs department specific procedures and treatments per UHS Policies and Procedures.
• Actively participates in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
• Maintains a level of knowledge conducive to providing high quality patient care.
• Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance pattern.
• Participates in other activities as assigned.
