Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to coordinate patient care under a provider's supervision and support clinic operations. The candidate will room patients, document vitals, review medication lists in the EHR, and assist with procedures as needed.

Responsibilities include back office testing, sung to comply with HIPAA, and potential travel between physician offices. A Medical Assistant program completion and certification within 120 days are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification requirements: must complete certification within 120 days of hire if not yet certified; eligible for company proctored exam.
• Preferred Associate's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision.
• Prepare and room patients according to workflows.
• Record vital signs and patient information in the EHR.
• Assist with depression screening tools when applicable.
• Perform back office testing per AHN policies.
• Support exam procedures and potential scribe duties.
• Follow-up with patients per provider instructions.
• Maintain inventory and sterile instruments.
