Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under provider supervision. You will assist with examination coordination, room patients, obtain vitals, document medical history, and screen for tobacco and medications using AHN protocols.

You may perform back office testing, assist with procedures, possibly serve as a scribe, and follow up with patients. Strong attention to hygiene and accurate EHR documentation are essential, with readiness to travel between AHN locations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification within 120 days if required.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Background checks: Act 34/39/73 as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vitals and document history, tobacco, and medication screening.
• Assist in back office testing and procedures per AHN policies.
• May serve as a scribe with training; document in EHR.
• Follow up with patients at designated intervals via preferred method.
