Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the GCMG Sexual Health – Obstetrics/Gynecology department in Charlotte, NC. This full-time role features a 40-hour work week with a 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. schedule and a sign-on bonus eligibility based on criteria.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, chart review, assisting providers, lab duties, vaccines, and coordinating referrals. Required capabilites include MA certification, BLS, and two years of MA experience where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military clinical training per DD214 in lieu of MA program.
• Two years of verifiable full-time Medical Assistant experience within the last 5 years (for IL/WI divisions).
• Certification requirements across Greater Charlotte, IL/WI, Wake Forest, Floyd & Navicent divisions as listed.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and site policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Handles refills, insurance authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintains clean work environment and stocked supplies.
• May assist with training and onboarding of teammates.
• Possibly serves as a role champion or on a committee.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care knowledge across lifespan.
