Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time position in the OBGYN department. The role involves performing patient rooming tasks, vitals, history taking, and assisting providers with procedures.

Responsibilities include lab duties (venipuncture, sample handling, POCT), medication administration, and coordinating referrals and scheduling. A CMA/RMA certification is preferred; BLS may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military training.
• Current CMA/RMA certification or recognition by national organizations is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Handles rooming/visit tasks including vitals, history, health maintenance, and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per medication administration rights.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Keeps the work environment clean and stocked; ensures equipment is in working order.
• May assist with training teammates and participate on committees.
• Provides age-appropriate care per department standards.
