Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering excellent patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, and help coordinate care to create a positive healthcare experience.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, completion of an MA program/externship or EMT/Paramedic training, current CPR, and MA credentialing options. 0-1 year experience accepted; more if no MA program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of MA program and externship, MA internship, EMT program, Paramedic program, or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligibility or EMT/Paramedic license in MI, CPR.
• MA-Credentialed I: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC.
• 0–1 year clinical experience preferred; if no MA program, 2+ years of clinical support experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
