Job summary

Susquehanna Obstetrics, Gynecology and Nurse Midwifery is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support medical providers in clinical and administrative duties. Offices are located in Bel Air, MD and Havre de Grace, MD.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, vital signs, assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and maintaining a safe work environment. Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in healthcare or related field preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare organization preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examinations (reviews history, documents symptoms, updates medications).
• Records vital signs.
• Assists providers with exams and procedures.
• Administers medications and injections.
• Performs phlebotomy.
• Collects and prepares lab specimens (pathology, urine, fecal, blood).
• Stocks exam rooms with supplies.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment.
• Maintains safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
• Answers phones, schedules appointments, and provides information.
