Job summary

Women’s Care seeks a Medical Assistant to deliver professional clinical care, prepare patients, and support providers during visits. This role supports OB/GYN and primary care teams across offices, ensuring patient comfort and accurate medical record handling.

The position emphasizes accurate vital signs, phlebotomy or injections where applicable, and compliance with HIPAA. Candidates should have a high school diploma, CPR/BLS, and familiarity with EMR systems (eCW preferred).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred OR the ability to obtain certification within 120 days.
• Eligible by completing a nationally accredited MA program OR service as a Medical Technician in the Armed Forces.
• Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Experience in OBGYN or Primary Care is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and injections if applicable.
• Ability to perform dosage calculations and unit conversions.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and staff.
• Good organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in entering data into an EMR, preferably eCW.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment, examinations, and testing.
• Prepare, restock, and sterilize rooms and care areas per policies.
• Record patient medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
• Measure, record, and document vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy and injections when directed.
• Educate patients with information and instructions from providers.
• Maintain a safe, compliant work environment per HIPAA and regulations.
• Relay messages between patients and front office staff.
• Represent the office professionally to patients and colleagues.
• Participate in team activities and required meetings.
